Nairobi is the only capital city in the world that hosts a national park within its boundaries.
Around July, wildebeest migrate north from the Serengeti plains in search of fresh pasture, and return south around October.
The Republic of Kenya takes its name from Mount Kenya.
Fort Jesus was built between 1593 and 1596 on the orders of King Felipe II of Spain. UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site in 2011.
